Austin Nola was born December 28, 1989 and is an infielder for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. He previously attended Louisiana State University (LSU), where he played college baseball for the LSU Tigers and was a member of the 2009 College World Series champions. Nola elected free agency on November 2, 2018, and signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on November 9, 2018. He opened the 2019 season with the Tacoma Rainiers of the PCL. The Mariners promoted Nola to the 25-man roster on June 16, 2019. He made his Major League debut the same day, starting at first base and going 1-2 with a run scored in a 6-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. He finished the season hitting .269/.342/.454/.796 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI.
